Filipino gamers have something exciting to look forward to as Street Fighter introduces Yasmine, the franchise’s first-ever Filipino character. To celebrate her debut, Capcom will also be hosting a special community event for fans.
Street Fighter 6 Introduces Yasmine, Its First Filipina Fighter
Yasmine, the newest fighter coming to Street Fighter 6, hails from the Philippines and showcases the fast-paced martial art of Eskrima.
Trained by her Lolo (grandfather) alongside her Kuya (older brother), she put down her Karambit knife after her brother’s mysterious disappearance.
Inspired by FooTube videos of a renowned French supermodel, Yasmine sets out to find her lost sibling, using her signature high-speed Eskrima techniques.
Yasmine is the first fighter in Street Fighter 6’s Year 4 roster, which also includes Arjun, Tifa from the FINAL FANTASY VII Remake series, and Bosch. Her release will also coincide with a new update featuring battle balance adjustments for the entire Street Fighter 6 roster.
Yasmine will officially join Street Fighter 6 on August 3, 2026, and will be available to players who own or purchase the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass.
Her default Outfit 1 features her traditional Eskrima combat attire, while Outfit 2 dresses her in a school uniform. Players can unlock Outfit 2 by maxing out her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or by purchasing it with Fighter Coins.
Capcom to Host Official Yasmine Community Event in the Philippines
Capcom invites fans, competitive players, and community members to the Official Street Fighter 6 ‘Yasmine’ Community Event to celebrate the historic debut of the new character.
The said event will take place on August 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Salud! By Primera Bar & Restaurant, located in Palanan, Makati. They mentioned that it will be a packed afternoon of fierce tournament play and fun community activities.
General Program Schedule:
- 2:00 PM: Doors Open, Player Check-in, Controller Button Checks, and Free Play Warmups
- 3:00 PM – 3:15 PM: Welcome Speech & Official Street Fighter 6 Yasmine Gameplay Showcase
- 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM: Tournament Pools
- 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Top 8 Finals (Main Stage Broadcast) & Prize Presentation Ceremony for Champion, 2nd and 3rd Placements
- 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Premium Community Giveaways, Group Photo Ops, and Closing Remarks
- 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Free Play and Community Networking
Capcom will also be unveiling its lineup of special guests, including cosplay icons, veteran figures from the local fighting game circuit, and popular creators.
