Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 series in the Philippines, bringing the new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ with upgraded performance, larger displays, Galaxy AI features, and a slimmer design aimed at people who want to work, create, and stay entertained wherever they are.
Both tablets come with an S Pen and run Android 17 with One UI 9. They also feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness, while the new 3nm processor delivers improvements in CPU, GPU, and NPU performance over the previous generation.
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra: A Tablet That Can Double as a Workstation
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the standout of the lineup, measuring just 5.1mm thin and featuring a massive 14.6-inch display. It also offers up to 23 hours of battery life, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a redesigned vapor chamber to help maintain performance during demanding workloads.
For productivity, you can use the Samsung’s Pro Keyboard on Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, which adds a more traditional laptop-style setup while retaining the tablet’s portability. The keyboard also includes a dedicated Galaxy AI Key for quick access to AI assistants.
With Samsung Notes, Multi Window, Galaxy AI, and support for professional apps such as Adobe Photoshop, the Tab S12 Ultra is positioned as more than just a tablet. For users who primarily need a portable workstation, it could potentially serve as a laptop alternative for many everyday tasks.
Galaxy Tab S12+: A More Portable Productivity Companion
The Galaxy Tab S12+ takes a slightly more compact approach with a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and slimmer bezels. It offers up to 21 hours of battery life and shares the same 3nm processor platform, Galaxy AI features, S Pen experience, and IP68 rating as the Ultra.
It also supports Samsung’s keyboard accessories, making it a flexible option for students, professionals, and creators who want a larger screen without going all the way up to the Ultra’s 14.6-inch size.
Both tablets also come with access to a range of productivity and creative software. Adobe Photoshop is pre-loaded, while Samsung is offering trials and discounts for apps including Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and Clip Studio Paint.
What’s on My Mind
We got an early look at the Galaxy Tab S12 series during a media preview on August 25, 2026, and one of the things that stood out to us was how Samsung has pushed the lineup further toward being an actual productivity device.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra especially feels like it can fit into a laptop-replacement setup. With its large 14.6-inch display, S Pen, powerful hardware, and Pro Keyboard, it gives you a more complete workstation experience while still being much thinner and easier to carry than a traditional laptop.
The combination of Galaxy AI, multitasking, and creative apps also makes the Tab S12 series interesting beyond work. Whether you’re taking notes, editing photos and videos, watching content, or simply browsing, the large AMOLED displays give the tablets a more immersive lifestyle experience.
