I recently got the chance to test the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, one of the entry devices in the Galaxy S series. Samsung lent us a review unit for three weeks, and I made it my main driver. After using it as my daily phone, here are the features that stood out to me.
1. Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock
First, as someone who relies heavily on my phone for content creation, having a capable camera is important to me. The Galaxy S26 FE impressed me with its Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock mode.
This feature is perfect for me because my hands are shaky. It can be helpful when filming while walking or moving around, especially when I want to focus more on getting the shot rather than constantly worrying about keeping the phone perfectly steady.
2. My FanCam Makes Self-Filming Easier
Another favorite feature of mine is My FanCam, which automatically centers the subject in the video. Basically, it detects the subject or person in your video, and you can select and lock the frame.
For content creators, this can make filming easier and reduce the need to manually adjust your framing during post-production.
It’s especially useful for situations where you’re recording yourself and don’t have someone behind the camera to keep you in frame.
3. Photo Assist Can Transform Your Photos
Meanwhile, if you want to play around with your photos, you can use its Photo Assist feature. With the help of Galaxy AI, you can transform your photos, like adding a dog or a hat, as I did.
It is easy to use. You simply write what you want to change or add, and the phone generates the result in seconds. You can also change the style of your photo to retro anime, 3D toon, and more with its built-in presets. It really just depends on your creativity and how you want to maximize this Photo Assist feature.
4. Performance That Keeps Up With Everyday Use
Aside from those creative features, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE also delivers powerful performance. If you noticed in our first impressions article, I wasn’t too confident about its performance. But after using it for my everyday casual use, it turns out that it can easily run all the apps that I use.
Even in gaming, it didn’t have a hard time. It also scored around 2,497,923 on AnTuTu in my testing. The multitasking experience was also okay for me even though it only has 8GB of RAM.
5. An Immersive Display for Everyday Content
Last but not least is its display. The display specifications are largely unchanged from its predecessor. However, since this is my first time trying a Galaxy S device, I really appreciated the quality of the display.
Whether I’m watching videos, scrolling through social media, gaming, or simply browsing, the display plays a big part in how enjoyable the phone is to use.
What’s On My Mind
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is a great device if you want to experience the Samsung Galaxy S series. Even though it is the most affordable in the series, it still delivers a flagship experience. Although it is not a perfect device since its specs are almost similar to its predecessor. I’m sure you will enjoy using it, especially with Galaxy AI and the other features I mentioned above.
