I’ve been using these devices for few days now, and I want to share you my experience with the TechLife Pad Plus 12” which you can now buy for only PHP 9,999.

Design and Build Quality
We are done with very thick tablets, even though it is affordable, it still comes with a thin and lightweight design, easier to hold and carry around. Being thin doesn’t mean flimsy because it still offers good build quality.

Its back design is also elegant looking with its metallic matte finish. The available colorways of this tablet are Storm Grey, Sky Blue, and Moonlight Silver.
However, I noticed that smudges or dried sweat are still visible even though it has a matte finish. It is better to use a case to keep your device neat and clean and provide additional protection as well.
Although, as of writing this blog, I haven’t seen any case available in the market. You can check out the official store of TechLife Philippines if they are selling one.

For its input and output, we can locate on its right side the power button, volume rockers, microphone, and SIM tray, while there’s another microphone on the left side.

On the bottom, there’s the USB-C port and two speaker grills, while there are also two speaker grills at the top.

Display and Multimedia
You will enjoy binge watching in this tablet because it has a large 12-inch IPS LCD display with 2K resolution. I honestly love watching videos in this tablet especially it also has quad stereo speakers that sounds decently.
However, since it is only an IPS LCD panel, the vibrance of its display is not that aggressive, leaving just enough color saturation for entertainment.
Besides watching, reading an eBook is a pleasure on this tablet, all texts are sharp and easy to read.
However, it only supports 60Hz refresh rate which is understandable since it is only a budget tablet. But it is better if it has high refresh rate feature since that can level up your overall viewing experience.
Although it is hyped for summer, it is not that ideal in outdoor especially in bright sunny day since it only supports 450 nits max brightness, just enough to see contents in a shade. But if you will be only using it indoors, it is more than enough.

Performance and Software
Next is performance, the TechLife Pad Plus 12″ is equipped with the 12nm MediaTek Helio G91 octa-core chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB internal storage.
I always use this tablet for productivity and light gaming, and for me, its performance is more than enough not only for summer entertainment but for overall and long-term usage. I also haven’t encountered any issues with its performance even in heavy multitasking.
For gaming, I tried to play Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Asphalt 9: Legends, and Call of Duty Mobile. Those games run decently on this device in medium graphics settings. But I don’t recommend using it for playing heavy games since you will experience some hiccups or lag.

Battery and Charging
You can expect long hours of usage with this tablet because it has a large 8,000mAh battery capacity. Based on my usage, it lasted me up to 2 days with a mix of browsing social media, playing light games, and working. Even though it has a very large display, its battery capacity is more than enough to deliver you a whole day of juice since it is already efficient.
Unfortunately, the TechLife Pad Plus 12″ only supports 18W charging that is slow especially having this kind of massive battery. In my testing, it took around 3-4 hours to fully charge the tablet and you should consider that before buying it. But in case it is not a big deal to you, there will be no problem if you buy it.
I don’t really have any complaints about its charging support given how affordable it is. Of course, it would be better if TechLife offered faster charging, especially since tablets typically have larger battery capacities than smartphones.

Camera
The TechLife Pad Plus 12” is already good for online meetings since it features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. For a tablet, the photos I took here offer decent image quality.

Honestly, I was taken aback by the image quality because I thought the photos would be pretty much unusable, but they turned out quite good, even the selfie camera. It holds up well in low-light too, so it gets the job done for video calls without a hitch.

Although we cannot compare it to smartphones since the camera is not the top priority in tablets, most users still mainly use smartphones when it comes to photography or capturing moments.

Final Verdict
There are only a few good options in the budget tablet category, so it’s great that TechLife released the TechLife Pad Plus 12”. It offers impressive features that go beyond what you’d expect for its price. You also get a large display, which is rarely seen in tablets under PHP 10K, and it doesn’t look cheap at all.
Its performance is decent as well, making it suitable for both productivity and entertainment. I can confidently recommend this tablet to students who need help with assignments and research, employees looking to enhance their workflow, and anyone who wants an immersive entertainment experience on a budget.
