HONOR has unveiled its latest flagship midrange lineup—the HONOR 200 Series 5G. Among the new releases, we have the HONOR 200, the base variant of the series. After spending over a month with this device, I’m ready to share my full experience with you.
Priced at ₱24,999, it already offers a lot, and if you act fast, you can snag a pair of JBL Soundgear Frames Audio Glasses worth ₱9,499 as a freebie (while stocks last). Let’s dive into what makes the HONOR 200 a compelling choice.
Camera
The HONOR 200’s camera system is undoubtedly its star feature. It boasts a powerful 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX856 telephoto lens with OIS and EIS, and a 12MP ultra-wide/macro shooter.
These specs combine to deliver exceptional image quality. HONOR’s collaboration with Studio Harcourt takes its portrait capabilities to the next level, offering three professional-grade Harcourt Portrait modes: Harcourt Vibrant, Harcourt Color, and Harcourt Classic.
Personally, I found the Harcourt Classic mode especially impressive—it produces cinematic, professional-looking portraits that rival shots taken with dedicated cameras. E
ven outside the portrait modes, the photos captured with this device are sharp, vibrant, and rich in detail. I also tried out the Super Macro mode, and it blew me away with its precision and clarity, perfect for exploring macro photography.
When it comes to videos, the HONOR 200 doesn’t disappoint. Both the main and telephoto lenses deliver stabilized, crystal-clear footage, making this phone ideal for content creators or anyone who loves recording videos.
The variety of available camera modes—aperture, night, portrait, photo, video, and more—adds versatility to your photography experience. Check out the sample photos and videos I captured using the HONOR 200 in the full video below!
Design and Build
One of the first things you’ll notice about the HONOR 200 is its sleek, lightweight design. It’s one of the thinnest and lightest phones I’ve used, measuring just 7.7mm thick and weighing 187g. D
espite housing a massive 5,200mAh battery, it feels incredibly comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.
The device comes in three colorways: Moonlight White, Emerald Green, and Black. I tested the Black variant, but the Moonlight White stands out with its elegant, premium look, thanks to the unique Coastline design.
All variants feature a matte finish, which helps keep fingerprints and smudges at bay.
The build quality feels solid, though the back panel is plastic, and I couldn’t confirm if the frame is aluminum. To protect its slim body and quad-curved display, I recommend using a protective case.
Display
The HONOR 200 features a 6.7-inch Equal-Depth Quad-Curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a staggering 4000nits peak brightness, ensuring great visibility even under direct sunlight.
Watching videos and viewing photos is a joy on this vivid AMOLED panel. Text and other details are razor-sharp, thanks to the 435PPI pixel density. Adding to the immersive experience are the dual stereo spatial speakers, which deliver excellent audio quality.
The display also comes with thoughtful features like AI Circadian Night Display and Dynamic Dimming Display, designed to reduce eye strain and improve sleep quality.
Performance
Under the hood, the HONOR 200 is powered by a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor paired with an Adreno 720 GPU. It runs MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, offering a highly optimized and smooth user experience.
In terms of benchmarks, the HONOR 200 scores impressively, making it more than capable of handling demanding tasks. Whether it’s gaming or productivity, the phone performs reliably.
I tested games like Genshin Impact, COD Mobile, and Mobile Legends, and they all ran smoothly on medium to high settings. While gaming, I did notice some warmth due to the slim form factor, but it wasn’t too distracting.
Battery
One of the standout features of the HONOR 200 is its 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery. This cutting-edge technology delivers outstanding longevity, easily lasting over a day of heavy use. Based on my experience, I could go into the next day before needing to recharge.
Even more impressive is its 100W fast charging capability. Charging from 20% to 100% took me just around 40 minutes, making it incredibly convenient for users on the go.
Final Thoughts
The HONOR 200 strikes a great balance between hardware, features, and price. For ₱24,999, you’re getting a midrange device with a stunning camera system, sleek design, immersive display, long-lasting battery, and reliable performance.
Whether you’re a serious gamer, a photography enthusiast, or someone looking for a long-term daily driver, the HONOR 200 is worth considering.
If you’re in the market for a midrange smartphone, this device is easy to recommend. Don’t forget about the JBL Soundgear Frames freebie while stocks last—it’s an offer too good to pass up!
