Sometimes you just need a device that is easy to carry around for light tasks. We have tested the TechLife Pad Lite 8” for reading, streaming, and a bit of gaming. Here’s my honest insight into this portable tablet.

Design
In terms of design, this new TechLife Pad Lite 8” boasts an elegant and premium appearance, despite its plastic body. It is available in Champagne Gold and Lilac Purple. We have here the Champagne Gold colorway, and I love its aesthetics, which can complement any of my outfits.
For input and output, this tablet has dual stereo speakers at the bottom, while the USB-C port, hybrid microSD card slot, and 3.5mm headphone jack are at the top. Its volume rockers and power button are located on the right side.

Additionally, it also has a removable kickstand that is very useful, especially when you are bringing your tablet everywhere.
Display

As for the display, the TechLife Pad Lite 8” has an 8-inch display with HD resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 300nits max brightness. Its display provides vibrant colors, perfect for watching videos. However, since it only supports HD resolution, it quite lacks details and sharpness.
I usually use it for reading articles because its size is ideal for reading and browsing, and even with one hand, I can easily swipe content. You will feel like you are just holding a notebook.
Moreover, its brightness is just enough for indoors. While its 90Hz refresh rate is smooth and levels up your scrolling experience.

Real-World Performance
The TechLife Pad Lite 8” uses the 12nm UNISOC T606 octa-core processor with ARM Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. This tablet delivers decent performance for basic entertainment, social media browsing, document handling, and light gaming.
Its performance is just entry-level, so don’t expect that it will perform like a PHP 10K tablet; it is only enough for users who do homework and research, watch lectures or tutorials, and online video conferencing.
I also tried playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on this tablet, and it provided me a decent gaming experience with medium-high graphics settings. However, I experienced some frame drops when in a clash, but I suggest lowering the graphics settings to eliminate some hiccups. For basic gaming, this is more than enough, especially if you are just playing Subway Surfers, Candy Crush Saga, and other light games.
With its 4GB RAM, I had a decent multitasking experience. The TechLife Pad Lite 8” also supports up to 4GB of Virtual RAM via the RAM Expansion feature. Meanwhile, this tablet only comes with 64GB internal storage, but you can expand it via microSD card up to 1TB.

Camera Test
While being a budget tablet, you can still get decent image quality photos or videos. To recall, it has a 5MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera. It is not as good as our smartphones, but its camera is already usable for capturing documents, selfies, or using it for video calls.

As you can see, the photos we took are quite vibrant but do not have enough details. For me, the cameras are already good for basic photography.

Battery Life
This TechLife Pad Lite 8” can also provide all-day power even though it has a compact body, thanks to its large 6,000mAh battery capacity. I can consider its battery long-lasting as it gives me enough juice to run all of my tasks in a whole day, whether watching YouTube videos, reading some articles, or playing some games.
However, you may find its charging slow as it only supports 10W charging. It may take you almost 3 hours to charge, so make sure to charge it early if you are going out. For its price, we cannot complain about this trade-off, just take note of this before buying.
Final Thoughts
The TechLife Pad Lite 8” is one of the best tablet choices in this price range, as it offers great features. It is also rare to find a budget tablet this size, which is also its highlight feature since it is more portable. Even though it is small, it can still give decent performance, enough for your basic tasks and gaming. If you are a student, parent, grandparent, or a user who is looking for a great budget tablet, I can recommend this device.
