Nexal Pad Review: Is This PHP 17,999 Tablet Worth It?

Is the Nexal Pad worth it, or is it just another tablet with good marketing? I asked myself the same question before trying it. After 3 weeks of using it for my content creation work, entertainment, and gaming, I have a clear answer. This Nexal Pad review covers the design, performance, battery, and who should actually get one, all for a tablet under PHP 20,000.

Design and Portability: Is It Easy to Carry Around?

If you prefer simple aesthetics, the Nexal Pad has a minimalist, elegant design. On the back, there is a circular camera island that houses a 13MP camera and LED flash, and the Nexal branding on the lower left.

You can choose between Obsidian Gray and Aurora Green colorways, both of which look professional. I’d still choose Obsidian Gray because it looks more unpretentious and is easy to pair with other devices.

This tablet also has good build quality and feels firm. It weighs around 500g, which is acceptable considering its large battery capacity. Its size and thickness are also just right if you want a portable tablet. You can easily bring it to a cafe, work, or school.

Display and Sound Quality

The first time I used the Nexal Pad, I was impressed with its display quality. It has an 11-inch IPS display that supports 2.5K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Its bezels are not too thick, which is just right for a tablet, and the 8MP front camera is located at the right-center side of the tablet. Since it has a high resolution, it delivers sharp and detailed visuals. Its display also supports up to 500 nits of maximum brightness, which is only enough for indoor use.

I enjoyed watching content on this tablet because its screen produces vibrant colors. It also has Widevine L1 support, which lets you stream high-resolution videos on services like Netflix, Disney+, etc.

The Nexal Pad also boasts quad speakers, which I found to have decent audio quality. They make your entertainment more immersive. There are no problems with the 90Hz refresh rate. It was smooth and optimized, even in gaming.

I’m also using it to edit some photos and thumbnails for my content. For me, its display is more than enough, no matter where you use it.

Performance for Work, Study, and Creating

As I mentioned above, I’m using the Nexal Pad for my work, especially for research and photo editing. Based on my task demands, this device can run them without any issues.

Nexal uses a 6nm MediaTek Helio G200 octa-core chipset as the brain of this device. It is already decent given the sub-PHP 20K price. But I wish they had put in 8GB of RAM instead of 6GB.

I know memory supply is somewhat limited right now, but I believe they could have used 8GB of RAM. Its multitasking performance is still acceptable, as I can do moderate multitasking. By the way, it also supports split-screen mode, so it is okay for productivity. Another good thing is that it has built-in AI-powered tools.

Nexal Pad Gaming Test: Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends

The Nexal Pad is also good for gaming. We tried playing some popular titles like Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. During our gaming tests, we didn’t encounter any lag or issues, even when we set the graphics settings to medium or high.

With how expensive tablets are nowadays, this is a good option if you’re looking for a decent-performing tablet at this price point. It also already supports LTE connectivity, so you can stay connected anytime, anywhere. That’s a big deal for users who are always out and have no Wi-Fi to connect to.

Battery Life and Charging: Can It Last a Full Day?

The Nexal Pad can last a full day since it features a large 10,000mAh battery. It still depends on your usage, but it lasted me up to 2 days since I don’t do many heavy tasks. I can say that its hardware and software are quite optimized, which is why it is battery efficient.

I haven’t done a battery benchmark, but I can assure you that it lasts long. Even if you drain the battery, it charges quickly since it supports 33W fast charging. That’s not as fast as typical phones, but I consider it fast for a tablet at this price.

Who Should Buy the Nexal Pad?

This new Nexal Pad is good for students and creators, as well as for professionals. If you want a tablet for work, entertainment, and gaming that is easy to carry and stays connected through LTE, it is a strong option in this price range.

Is the Nexal Pad Worth It? My Final Verdict

The Nexal Pad is one of the best tablets I’ve reviewed. For its price, I can say that it is worth buying, especially if you also get the keyboard case for free. This tablet is already good for productivity because it has powerful performance, LTE connectivity, and useful features like split-screen mode.

I’m just not too sure about its software support since they are new to the tablet industry. But out of the box, I can say that this tablet is already useful for work and entertainment.
