Android Users Can Now Use Google Wallet in the Philippines
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Google Wallet is now officially available in the Philippines, giving Android users a simple and secure way to make contactless payments and store their digital essentials in one place.

With Google Wallet, Filipinos can add their payment cards from participating banks and use their Android phones or Wear OS devices to tap and pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.

You can also use Google Wallet for online and in-app payments through Google Pay. This lets users pay on supported platforms, including Shopee, without typing in their card details each time.

Aside from payment cards, the app can store boarding passes, loyalty cards, tickets, and vouchers. Philippine Airlines boarding passes already work with Google Wallet at launch. Travelers who add their passes will get alerts for things like gate changes and updated departure times.

Local industry leaders, including the BSP, DICT, and FinTech Alliance PH, welcomed the rollout and highlighted its role in supporting digital payments, financial inclusion, and the country’s shift toward a more connected economy.
