Two new additions to realme’s C series have been unveiled in Vietnam last two days ago, the realme C85 Pro and realme C85 5G. These two smartphones possessed large displays, large batteries, and IP69K ingress protection.

The realme C85 Pro featured the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G chipset, while the C85 5G equips a more recent 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G-ready chipset. Both devices arrived with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

These phones are powered by a large 7,000mAh battery capacity that supports 45W SUPERVOOC charging. They boast OTG charging so you can charge your other phones and accessories.

For display, the realme C85 Pro equips a large 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, up to 4,000 nits max brightness,  and 120Hz refresh rate support. However, the C85 5G only has a large 6.8-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution, 1,200 nits max brightness, and a 144Hz refresh rate.

Both the C85 Pro and C85 5G use 50MP Sony IMX852 main cameras and 8MP selfie shooters. They also run realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.

First thoughts

Compared to their predecessors, these two new additions bring a lot of upgrades, especially in battery and durability. They both cater to different types of consumers since the C85 Pro looks fit for casual users, while the C85 5G is for games due to its 144Hz refresh rate.

The downside of the C85 5G is the IPS LCD panel, although it will still depend on the user’s choice if it is not an issue. I can’t say anything yet about their price because it will differ when they arrive here in the Philippine market.
