Canon PIXMA TR160 Launched in the Philippines

Canon Philippines just unveiled the new PIXMA TR160, a portable wireless printer designed for professionals who need reliable and secure printing while on the move.

This model comes with smartphone connectivity, a USB-rechargeable battery, and storage for a printable user-created document template. It is claimed to deliver a consistent, high-quality document output without the need for a laptop.

The Canon PIXMA TR160 is a perfect travel companion due to its portable design. You can just fit it in your briefcases or carry-on bags. This printer has a 1.44-inch OLED display where you can see and manage its print settings, battery life,  ink levels, and Wi-Fi signal strength. Besides, it also has a security lock slot to prevent theft.

In terms of performance, the printer can produce monochrome text documents at about 9.0 images per minute (ipm) and color documents at around 5.5 ipm. It also supports A4 borderless printing on glossy paper.

Another unique feature of this portable printer is the ability to store up to five customized print templates that can be stored in the printer’s memory. That feature allows you to quickly reprint forms and datasheets without connecting to a laptop or mobile device.

The Canon PIXMA TR160 also uses a 5-Color Hybrid Ink System, consisting of pigment and dye ink to produce both sharp text and vibrant images.

Moreover, its rechargeable battery pack can be charged using an AC adapter or a USB-C cable. Canon mentioned that a 10-minute charge via AC power is enough to print up to 36 pages.

This portable printer utilizes 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, along with TLS 1.3 security levels, to provide enhanced protection against unauthorized access. It is also easy to print without a router or network infrastructure, thanks to its wireless direct capabilities.

Using the Canon PRINT app that is available in iOS and Android, you can print directly from your mobile devices. In that app, you can also check its printer status and its ink levels.

Lastly, the Canon PIXMA TR160 also supports direct printing from online platforms via the cloud-integrated service.
