After the successful launch of the HONOR 400 5G, HONOR Philippines is set to launch its bigger brother, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G. We have a review unit and have already unboxed it, so here are my first impressions of this upcoming device.

Unboxing Experience
Starting with our unboxing experience, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G arrived with a similar packaging to the HONOR 400 5G, a white box that is quite thick and heavy.
Unboxing it is straightforward, the phone greets you right away, followed by a carton that encases the SIM ejector tool, User Guide, and jelly case. Under that is the USB-C cable and a 100W HONOR SuperCharge charging adapter.

Design and Build Quality
As for the design, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G comes with a very elegant back, and its appearance looks premium. The available colorways of this phone are Tidal Blue, Midnight Black, and Lunar Grey, the one we have here.
For sure, the first thing you will notice at the back of this phone is its large camera island. It wobbles a lot when on a flat surface, especially if you’re not using a jelly case. There’s also a chance your fingers will hit the camera when you’re gaming.
Its back has a matte finish, and it seems like glass, but it is plastic. It is comfortable to hold and you will feel how good its build quality is.
This phone is not advertised as having drop resistance, so be careful. But it has IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, so it will survive accidental splashes.

For input and output, the dual nano SIM tray, microphone, USB-C port, and main speaker are located at the bottom. Meanwhile, the secondary speaker, IR blaster, and another microphone are at the top. Lastly, the volume rockers and power button are on the right side of the device.

Camera System
The HONOR 400 Pro 5G comes with an upgraded camera system; its rear setup now includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. While its front camera setup still features a 50MP and a 2MP depth sensor.
We recently reviewed its younger brother, the HONOR 400 5G, which I found lacking because that phone doesn’t have a telephoto lens. This Pro model is the best choice if you frequently shoot distant subjects because it is still better to have a dedicated telephoto lens.
This phone can shoot up to 4K@30fps video resolution and supports optical image stabilization even when zoomed in.
I already tested its camera, and to give you a hint, it provided me with excellent image quality. We will reveal the photos we took in our full review article that will be published soon!
In addition, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G also arrived with the AI image-to-video feature, so you can turn any of your photos into a video.

Display
One of its upgrades is the display. It now features a large 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with 1280×2800 resolution. Its display now supports up to 5,000nits max brightness. Besides, it has a 120Hz screen refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, HDR Vivid, AI Vivid, and AI Super-Dynamic technology.
Unlike the HONOR 400 5G, the Pro model comes with a quad-curved display that looks more premium in my opinion. Although I got used to HONOR 400 5G’s screen size, I feel this 6.7-inch is massive. But despite that, I still like its display more.

Performance
The HONOR 400 Pro 5G also arrived with a powerful 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core chipset with Adreno 750 GPU. That is an old flagship chipset, so we can expect a snappy performance in this phone.
Its chipset is paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, large enough memory for long-term usage because it will give you a seamless multitasking experience, and you can store a bunch of files and applications.
Software
For software, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G runs on the latest MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. Its software is very lightweight and optimized for its hardware. However, I still don’t have information about how long the software support for the HONOR 400 Series will last, but some sources stated that they are likely to receive up to 6 major Android upgrades.

Battery
Compared to its predecessor, its battery capacity is also bigger now. The HONOR 400 Pro 5G is powered by a massive 6,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery.
This phone supports 100W wired HONOR SuperCharge and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge. Wireless charging is already a thing in this price point, but the wireless charger is a separate purchase.
Price and Availability
As of writing, we don’t have the details about its pricing and when HONOR Philippines will be releasing it in the market.
Our HONOR 400 Pro 5G review is already ongoing. We are currently testing it further to give you accurate details and insights. Stay tuned!
