HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro Returns Globally with Flagship Cameras, Durable Build, and PHP 69,999 Price in PH

HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro - Key Visual

HUAWEI has officially brought back its flagship Mate series to the global stage with the launch of the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, nearly three years after the last Mate smartphone release. Positioned as a return to form, the new device highlights the brand’s continued focus on imaging, durability, and high performance.

The Mate series has long served as HUAWEI’s platform for major innovations. From introducing an AI-powered NPU on the Mate 10 to ultra wide angle photography on the Mate 20, the lineup has consistently pushed boundaries. The Mate 80 Pro continues that legacy with a refined design and upgraded internals aimed at modern flagship expectations.

One of the standout features is its new Dual Space Ring design, which forms an infinity-inspired look at the rear. The device comes in Gold and Black color options, paired with a vegan fiber finish that offers both durability and a premium in-hand feel.

Photography remains a key focus. The Mate 80 Pro is equipped with a 50MP Ultra Lighting main camera designed to improve light intake and deliver more accurate colors. It is complemented by a 48MP telephoto macro lens with 4x optical zoom and a close focusing distance of 5 cm. HUAWEI also introduced AI Composition, a feature trained on thousands of professional photos to guide framing and improve shot composition in real time.

Durability is another major highlight. The phone uses a reinforced structure along with second generation Kunlun Glass for better drop resistance. It is also rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance, allowing it to handle extreme conditions including high pressure water and low temperatures.

Under the hood, the Mate 80 Pro features a SuperCool Dual Phase Change cooling system designed to maintain stable performance during heavy usage. It packs a 5750 mAh battery that supports up to 30 hours of video playback. Charging is handled by 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.

The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro will launch in the Philippines on April 17 with a retail price of PHP 69,999. Early buyers can get it for PHP 64,999 along with bundled freebies and limited time vouchers available through major online platforms.
